July 17, 2003:

After the initial sales week, we have some information to share with you regarding this edition. .

Payment and delivery options: Several users have contacted us regarding payments without credit cards and regarding the possibility to obtain the software on CD-ROM rather than through download. We are working on these options as I write this and shall announce some important news here very soon.

Some users have experienced installation problems due to the fact that the install file takes up to 2 minutes to start up on some systems without giving any indication that it is running at all. If the user then starts another instance of the installation program, an error message 'Error: Failed to create file c:\$$SBTEMP\...... ' appears and the installation refuses to run. We are working with the developers of the installation generator to find a solution to this, for the moment if this happens, 1. reboot your machine, 2. manually delete the directory indicated in the error message, 3. restart the installation and WAIT until something happens before taking any further action.

The official Support Forum for FOC is at home at www.simpilot.net. A library with upcoming features, user contributions and other stuff is planned to be started there shortly. Registration is necessary, but is free of charge. Your user name for FOC and your screenname at simpilot do not need to be identical, as the access to this site is totally independent.

July 11, 2003:

April 26, 2003:

Edelweiss Virtual Airline will start using FOC VA Client Versions for their flight operations from May 1st. As a launch customer, Edelweiss VA will use a special version of FOC for this purpose, which does not require the new database implementation.

The release of FOC for the general public is still on hold because of delays regarding the new contract about Navigational data. We expect a decision on this matter within a few days.

January 13:

We are still working on implementing the new navdatabase which required adjustment in our programming, as we are now moving to a standardized format. Additionally, we are upgrading our remote servers to include other features such as direct NAT Track download.

September 1st:

DANUR CFS have announced plans for an prerelease  "courseware" offer of their Flight Operation Center software. As the package's complexity has grown over the more than 4 years of development, DANUR Computer Flight Training will provide courses to simmers in Europe in it's facilities near Zürich Airport. Courses will include the software (Simulation Pilot Version) and a full day of instruction on how to use the software and on flight operations.
